When should i register for family psychotherapy?
Family therapy is useful when you, as a parent, feel that you have lost good contact with your child. Your relationship is no longer what it used to be, you cannot communicate, there is more and more silence or screams and quarrels between you and your child.
Another reason to participate in family therapy is that your child is suffering and the family can help you manage your child's symptom.
The whole process of family therapy is carried out by a psychotherapist or two therapists at the same time - then there is a family and a therapist / therapists in the office. Therapists work in various psychotherapeutic trends, integrating various approaches, and often work systemically.
It is worth knowing that family therapy is usually attended by everyone who lives in the same house, e.g. mom, dad, children or people who would like to improve their relationships - of course, you will talk to the therapist about who is to come to the therapy session and he will help you decide who should be coming.
Examples?
